Improved device hierarchy
The device hierarchy was improved to give you more flexibility to organize monitored devices the way that best represents your environment.
You can now choose from six location types in a logical hierarchy: Group > Site > Building > Room > Row > Rack.
A street address is now optional on Sites, and can be added to any location type.
You can use the new location types to modify your existing device hierarchy in the IT Expert web interface, and view it in the EcoStruxure IT app.
Tip: The Location field only accepts street addresses from the list shown. Use the name field to add meaningful details for each location type.
The URL for the EcoStruxure IT manage app (formerly StruxureOn) is now https://app.ecostruxureit.com/manage.
The EcoStruxure IT/StruxureOn authentication system was updated to improve security.
SMS is no longer recommended as the most secure authenticator. You must now choose a 2-factor authentication method. This improves security and improves the experience in areas where SMS codes have been unreliable due to bad cellular reception.
To set up authentication, log in and choose a 2-factor authentication method: EcoStruxure IT app (recommended), Google or another authenticator, or SMS.
See Updated authentication method for details and screenshots.

Note: The Upgrade to Premium... and Move to... buttons are not activated until you select at least one device.
Device hierarchy by site
There is a new Manage Hierarchy option on the struxureon.com/manage page, available to admin users only. All users can view the hierarchy; only admin users can create or modify it.
You can see the hierarchy in the mobile app, but it is created or modified on struxureon.com, not in the app.
- Two levels of organization: sites and rooms.
- Add as many sites as needed. Add as many rooms within sites as needed.
- Link Gateways or Data Center Experts to a site or to a room.

New StruxureOn customers can create their device hierarchy from scratch. Existing customers will see that a hierarchy was created for them on struxureon.com based on their Gateway or DCE structure. This hierarchy can then be modified on struxureon.com
Creating a hierarchy is optional.
