Create, modify, or remove device settings configurations to access to SNMPv1 and SNMPv3 devices. The file transfer method is FTP only. File transfer is enabled by default, however, you must specify the username and password.
You can modify, but you cannot delete the Default Device Settings configuration. The Default Device Settings configuration is applied to all SNMP devices unless a device is specified in another configuration.
Note: You can disable FTP file transfer in the Default Device Settings configuration, and create another configuration to enable FTP file transfer
To create a device settings configuration:
- In the EcoStruxure IT Gateway, click the menu icon, then Device File Transfer Settings.
- Specify a name for the configuration, the username, password, and FTP port for the device.
Note: APC NMC devices restrict FTP rights to only the admin user. - Click Add Devices to specify the SNMP devices you want to access. Filter by device type, or enter search terms for data in any column in the list.
- Click Done and then Create.
Note: The EcoStruxure IT Gateway gathers the event.txt log daily for most APC devices using the Gateway's FTP credentials, apc/apc by default. Make sure the Gateway credentials match those on the devices. Otherwise, a warning email message is sent every day for each device.
